What’s happening in Sacramento This Month?
There’s plenty to do this month in Sacramento, we’ve done a little digging and found quite a few options that are only a party bike away!
Assemble the crew and pedal Downtown March 3 for $1 Taco Tuesday at Cilantros on J street! This is a deal that can’t be beat, and puts you right in the area of many other new bars in the city. After you’ve loaded up on tacos, a pedal to Tiger or Punch Bowl Social is just a few blocks away.
If you’re looking for food specials and a bit of dancing, you can find that Tuesday, March 3 at The Flamingo House on K street. Flamingo Hosts their weekly “SALT. ACID. PHAT. BEATS.” party featuring delicious food specials and tunes to make you move. Stop in for a drink and a bite, stay for the vibes.
If you or someone you know is a beer pong pro, start practicing your trick shots and assemble your teams because Republic Bar & Grill is holding a beer pong tournament Wednesday, March 4 at 9:30. Plan to pedal down to show off your skills, there is no entry fee and there is the chance to win prizes.
A ride down R street on Friday, March 6 will have lots of options. Pop into The Shady Lady for “Sour Diesel Jams” featuring “dynamic melodies and exotic rhythms.” Give Shady’s house-made gin and tonic a try! Pedal down R street a bit further and you are sure to find local art in the WAL Public Market since March 6 is First Friday.
Experience Sacramento’s 10th Annual Capital Beer Fest
2020 marks the 10th year of the annual “Capitol Beer Fest”. Pedal down to Capitol Mall March 7 anytime from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. and experience over 125 of the nation’s best brewers, 20 food trucks, and live music! A party bike is a perfect ride to events like this, the bike can take you right up to the entrance and is an easy getaway for when you want to hit the next spot. Get tickets (+ more info) now!
There is something unique happening at the Ten Ten Room on 10th street this month. On Sunday, March 8 starting at 5 p.m. the bar will host “Shuck Off Sacramento ” where local chefs will go “blade to blade” in an oyster shucking competition. With the purchase of a Ford’s Gin Martini or any other Ford’s Gin cocktail, you will get oysters for free! Plan this as a Sunday stop and cheer the competitors on!
Get ready for St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl!
Saint Patrick’s Day falls on a Tuesday this month but that doesn’t mean the festivities won’t happen. On Saturday, March 14, over 20 Midtown and Downtown bars will be participating in Sacramento’s largest and longest-running St. Paddy’s Day pub crawl. Get tickets (+ more info) now!
A critical part of the success of any pub crawl is safe transportation from bar to bar. You need something which can move a dozen or more friends quickly and does not require any partygoers to drive during the festivities. The beer bike is the perfect solution, our bikes hold anywhere from 8–15 passengers, making it the most efficient way to bike and brew to the next location quickly.
If you’re looking for some free St. Patrick’s Day fun, Goldfield Trading Post on J street is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day event from 11 am – 4 pm.
If you’re in the market for some family fun this month, you can plan one of your beer bike stops to hit Old Sacramento on Saturday, March 14 for the 24th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
There will be lots to see with hundreds of colorful marchers dressed in green, along with Irish dancers and bagpipe and drum bands. The parade steps off promptly at 1 pm from Old Sacramento and proceeds throughout the national historic landmark district. This is an event the kids would love, so bring the whole family!
Pedal Up the Pace With Sacramento’s Local Ladies!
If you’re wanting to skip the St. Patrick’s Day madness entirely, assemble your girl gang Saturday, March 14 and pedal down to R street to celebrate Women’s History Month! There is a “Woman’s Marketplace” event happening from 11 am – 4 pm. that will feature local artists, vendors, and small businesses—all run and created by women! This event is free for all and a great way to build up your local ladies.
On Sunday, March 15, there will be a “Bride’s March” throughout Midtown Sacramento. Grab the girls, hit your local thrift stores and start looking for your dresses. All you need for this event is a wedding dress—the wackier and more elaborate the better! No tickets are required for this event, so say “I do,” hop on the beer bike and enjoy seeing all the brides roaming the city.
Every Tuesday night this month at The Press Club on P street, you can find funk music to groove to. Music starts at 9 p.m. and there’s no cover charge, this would make a fun stop to any bike tour. This month’s funk nights will happen on March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
If you and your crew love to sing your heart out, pedal to Costanzas on a Thursday this month for weekly karaoke! This month’s karaoke will take place on March 5, 12, 19 & 26.
Every month The Golden Bear on K street hosts local DJs Mike Diamond and My Cousin Vinny playing music all night. Every 2nd and 4th Friday the “Something 2 Do” event takes place in the back bar. Pedal down to Golden Bear March 13 or 27 for this free event and pop across the street to The Flamingo House after if you’re in the mood for specialty cocktails or pedal a couple of blocks to Cantina Alley for margaritas and micheladas.
Don’t forget to stop by the Midtown Market!
The Midtown farmers market is in full swing this time of the year. It takes place every Saturday this month on 20th street from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. The market is a fun place to grab a sweet treat and walk around, might as well pop into LowBrau for a brew while you’re in the area! Pro tip: patio season is here so sit outside and enjoy the sun. The people-watching will be prime.
